The September 1919 issue of the Norwester includes a feature article on the newly-opened Scioto Country Club. Located at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington, the Club was originally accessible by two of the city’s trolley lines.
Designed as a community and recreation hub, the Club is still going strong today. Its golf course is still regarded as one of the best in the country, and was the first 18-hole course in central Ohio. Not only have they hosted many major tournaments over the years, but it’s also the course where golf legend Jack Nicklaus learned to play!
You can visit this Club today, or read more about its history, and the history of the Upper Arlington, Grandview, and Marble Cliff communities in the Norwester – online at DPLA now.
